City of Aiken Engineering & Utilities Water Service Interruption Advisory Notice – 206010WMB

Today (June 30, 2026), the City of Aiken has implemented an emergency road closure on Powderhouse Road, between Furman and Vanderbilt. Earlier this morning, a commercial vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a fire hydrant, which resulted in a shutoff of water service to the Kensington neighborhood. This outage is currently impacting approximately 90 homes. Water service will remain suspended until the vehicle is removed. Once removal is complete, repairs will be initiated, and water service will be restored to the affected residences. Following restoration, a boil water advisory will be in effect for 24 hours. The City of Aiken Engineering & Utilities Department announces a water service interruption located at 2195 POWDERHOUSE RD and VANDERBILT DR. There are approximately 90 impacted service connections with low pressure or no water. A Boil Water Advisory will be issued once the water service is fully restored.
